About This Archive

The loss of our dear Azam Kamguyan, beyond the profound void it left in my own life, is in my view a great blow to the movement for human liberation in today’s inverted world. The body of writing she produced over the years of her political activity remains fresh, profound, and incisive. It can continue to educate and support anyone seeking human emancipation, as well as activists in the workers’, women’s, and atheist movements, in their ongoing struggles.

Making her work accessible again was not simple.

Unfortunately, during the relatively long period of Azam’s illness, her websites (Azam Kamguyan’s website and the Atheists’ website) were not renewed. Not only the sites themselves, but also their registered domain names were lost.

To restore access to her work, two paths were possible:

  1. Using the Internet Archive, a foundation that continuously preserves archived copies of websites.
  2. Seeking the help of Azam’s friends and supporters to gather materials that could be found scattered across various publications and websites.

In the Internet Archive, the most recent relatively complete versions of the websites that remain accessible are quite old. The latest archived version of Azam Kamguyan’s website (azam-kamguyan.com) dates back to 2009, and the latest archived version of the Atheists’ website (bikhodayan.com) dates back to 2013. This is despite the fact that Azam remained active for many years after those dates.

Relying on the content available in these archives, and with the sincere assistance of a dear mutual friend who, with great care and dedication, gathered many of Azam’s writings and speeches, the following steps were taken:

  1. New web addresses were created for Azam Kamguyan’s website and for “Atheists”:
  2. The old websites — “Atheists” and “Azam Kamguyan” — were reconstructed as faithfully as possible, preserving their original structure, layout, colors, and design.
  3. Since these two websites do not include all of Azam’s writings and speeches, a new page titled “The Works of Azam Kamguyan” was created in order to gather her complete body of work — written, audio, and visual — in one place.

It should be noted that because some of the original links on her websites were not accessible to us, certain links may not function.

If you have access to any of Azam’s writings, files, or works — whether in Persian or in other languages — or if you notice any errors or omissions on these websites, we would be deeply grateful if you would share this with us.

Azam’s memory lives on in our hearts, and her absence is truly felt.
